CVS #2297, located at 385 North Broad Street in Lititz, Pennsylvania opened on May 1, 2011, as CVS' second Lititz location (the other store is located at 1052 Lititz Pike, we have a photo of that store as well and a post will be coming soon). This technically should be a weekly grocery store post but it seemed too interesting to wait. When I was looking through my 2018 photos a few days ago, I came across this interesting one. It's a photo of the abandoned Shur Fine supermarket in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. Not much is known about this supermarket, so this is going to be a shorter post. It appears that this store opened in the early 1980s, and around 2013, a Sunoco gas station was added to the site. This supermarket appears to have closed in 2017 (based on Google Maps and Historic Aerials), and it became a Dollar Tree, likely in 2019. Based on Shur Fine's store locator, it appears that the chain still operates stores in the West (namely in Washington (State) and Oregon) but their Central-Pennsylvania operations have folded. CVS Pharmacy #2158, located at 32 W. Lemon Street in Lancaster, Pennsylvania opened in 1997 as CVS's only store in the city (their rival, Rite Aid operates two in the city, both were open when this CVS opened) This store has two entrances, one on the back and one on the front.  Quick Information: Opened: 1997 Address: 32 W. CVS #10399, located at 3373 Lincoln Highway East in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania opened in late 2016, at a space formerly occupied by a TurkeyHill convenience store. TurkeyHill was built and opened between 1952 and 1968. It closed in the early 2000s and was demolished in 2016 to build this CVS. This CVS was formerly located at 108 W. 1st Avenue, which is located two miles away from the current site. Rite Aid #3620, located at 1550 Columbia Avenue in Lancaster, Pennsylvania opened on September 26, 1997, as the relocation of a store at 1368 Columbia Avenue, which opened in 1987 and closed in 1997 when this store opened. This location received an exterior remodel in 2020, although it still features the "Wellness 2" (Officially known as "Wellbeing") décor package on the inside. The inside of the store. Road sign. ACME #2679, located at 18578 Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware opened in November 2015 in a space formerly occupied by A&P-owned Super Fresh, which opened in March 1999. The store continues to coexist with an Albertson's-owned Safeway down the road, which opened in November 2005. This is a rare case, as in Wilmington, DE a Safeway closed in favor of an ACME, and in Dover, DE an ACME closed in favor of a Safeway. Rite Aid #3610, located at 1786-I Columbia Avenue in Columbia, Pennsylvania opened in 1988 in a space formerly occupied by Drug Fair. This Rite Aid received the prescriptions from the Kmart down the street, which closed in August 2020. To the best of my knowledge, it still features the red exterior logo (well, it did in August 2020. I'm not sure if it's still there.) and the " Rainbow " decor package on the interior. Bed, Bath & Beyond of Lancaster, PA opened in fall 2010 as the company's only location in Lancaster County, PA. The center also includes the Bed, Bath & Beyond-owned chain, Christmas Tree Shops. Weis #173, Located at 693 Lombard Road in Red Lion opened in 2000. It was formerly a Festival Foods. This location has an eating area inside the store as well as a wine & beer section. Based on some photos I found online, this store has implemented the newest décor model more than some others. This location was formerly open 24 hours. Weis #41, located at 1204 Millersville Pike, opened in 1962 with co-anchor ACME (which closed with the rest of ACME’s Central Pennsylvania stores) The ACME is now occupied by Guitar Center and Ruby Tuesday (Side note: This is also the last Ruby Tuesday in Lancaster County; the store in the Rockvale Outlet center closed in December 2019 and the location on Fruitville Pike closed in 2020). This Weis received a Beer Café in 2020, giving this location its third décor package to be in use at one time. With the addition of the Beer Café, the store’s façade received a facelift; the exterior sign was replaced, and the word “markets” was placed under the new sign.
