ACME store #2680, located at 100 College Square in Newark, Delaware opened on 11/11/2015 in a space formerly occupied by Pathmark, which closed in November 2015 (Similar to the  Rehoboth Beach  store). There's also a former Kmart located in the center, which you can read about over on Kmart Forever. The front of the store Google Earth imagery The side of the building as a Pathmark SuperCenter. Glimpse: Pet Valu #5157 - Willow Street, PA

Image
Pet Valu #5157, located at 2600 N. Willow Street Pike in Willow Street, Pennsylvania opened in January 2013 in a space formerly occupied by some sort of gallery (2009 Google Maps streetview is to blurry to make out the full name) and was one of three Pet Valu locations in Lancaster County (the other two were located in Lititz and Ephrata and appear to have opened around the same time). It closed in January 2021 and is now Pet Supplies Plus #4394.  Since I'm an idiot, I don't have any photos of these store while it was still open so this Google Maps screenshot will have to do. Google Maps imagery Whatever that gallery place was. It has a "no late fees" sign making me think it was something like Blockbuster Google Maps imagery Pet Supplies Plus, now open. Note how there's no official sign, just a banner. The Pet Valu logo is still under there A very similar banner that was used while Pet Supplies Plus was being stocked. Glimpse: Happy Harry's #19 - Newark, DE

Image
Happy Harry's #19, located at 241 College Square in Newark, Delaware was built and opened in 1982 with the rest of the College Square shopping center, which, at the time included a Pathmark (now ACME ) and a Bradlees (became  Kmart , which closed in 2018). Became Walgreens #11019 in 2006, although the exterior signage was never replaced and the store was bannered as Happy Harry's until its closure around 2010. The store as a Happy Harry's. Google Maps Streetview The building as it appears today. There's still some labelscar on the building, although due to the rain it's hard to see. Close-up of Happy Harry's logo on the building. I have no idea why Google put a filter on part of the logo. Google Maps Streetview

Tour: Weis #17 - Lancaster, PA

Image
This is a repost (sort of). There was a Quick Look of this store a little while ago. Now that I have more photos, I'm doing a full tour. Weis #17, located at 1700 Fruitville Pike, Unit A in Lancaster, Pennsylvania opened in the late 1990s as what could have been a relocation of the store 1890 Fruitville Pike, which opened with a neighboring Kmart. It ended up closing in the 1990s, so the relocation makes plenty of sense. Plus, the original location likely opened in 1970 (with the Kmart), which makes the store number make even more sense. Store #17 has used the glass tower entrance since its original opening. Behind the glass, on the inside of the store, there is a large “mural” with photos of fruits and vegetables. This location recently received a new exterior sign, removing the older one with the silver sides in favor of a new one in all red. UPDATE 04/30/21 (thanks to catnapped): The store next to the former Kmart originally opened as a Pantry Pride back in 1970 and became Weis

ACME #3753, located at 600 W. Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania opened on June 1, 2012, as a replacement of a store on the same property, which opened in 1965, closed on May 11, 2011, and was demolished later in 2011.  The original store location, which was demolished in 2011. Glimpse: Former Rite Aid #11204 - Silver Spring, MD | The Rite-Up

Image
This store was built and opened in the early-2000s as an Eckerd. It was converted to Rite Aid #11204 in 2007, and in 2019 it was converted to Walgreens #18255. The store is located at 13307 New Hampshire Avenue.  Google Maps Streetview doesn't go back in time enough at this location to see this store as an Eckerd, but it probably looked just like this . Quick Information: Opened: Early 2000s / 2007 / 2019 Address: 13307 New Hampshire Avenue Photographed: January 2021

Glimpse: andThat! (Christmas Tree Shops) - Rehoboth Beach, DE

Image
The andThat! store in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Located in part of a (former) Kmart, this store has quite the history, which I'm going to share with you. As a quick backstory on the building (you can find a whole report with photos over on Kmart Forever), Kmart built a store in Rehoboth Beach in 1995. In the late 1990s, it was converted to a "Big Kmart", and it remained that way until 2017, when Kmart downsized. In Late 2017 / Early 2018, andThat! and PetSmart opened. (2018) (2020) Quick Information: Opened: Around 2018 Address: 19563 Coastal Highway Photographed: August 2018 / August 2020

Glimpse: HomeGoods #520 - Lewes, DE

Image
This building has quite a history, housing two other tenants before HomeGoods. I think the building was originally built in the 1980s (I'm not 100% sure, Historic Aerials doesn't have any imagery between 1981 and 1992) originally as a Lowe's. Lowe's relocated to 20364 Plantation Road in the 1990s. Furniture & More opened in the space in 2005, and on October 1, 2010, that relocated to 19287 Coastal Highway. Finally, on May 22, 2011, HomeGoods opened in the space. ACME #3788, 700 W. Lancaster Avenue, located in Devon, Pennsylvania opened in 1979. The store was then expanded in 2003 when the store took over some space formerly occupied by Eckerd. The store was remodeled in the early 2010s. Before the remodel Photo: Acme Style Quick Information: Opened:  1979 Address:  700 W. Lancaster Avenue Photographed:  April 2018
