SPROUTS #816 Opened:  2020 Address: 4801 Concord Pike Photographed:  December 2021 Now that we're finished with Harrisburg, let's move on to Wilmington, DE. We have two supermarkets in Wilmington, this one and another that we'll be seeing next week. This was the first Delawarean store for the Sprouts Farmers Markets chain. CVS #1672 Opened:  1991 Address:   1575 S. Market St Photographed:  December 2021 For our second and final stop in the Harrisburg area this time around, we have CVS #1672 in Elizabethtown. Up next, we're headed to Wilmington. Another store with Rea & Derick roots, CVS #1672 in Elizabethtown opened on August 19, 1984, as Rea & Derick, replacing an ACME supermarket that closed in summer 1982 . It was converted to CVS in 1991 with the rest of Rea & Derick's stores.  While the exterior looks like it could use some work, the interior has been fully remodeled to the latest CVS prototype, which I've dubbed as "Plain and boring" If I had to take a guess, I'd say this cart has probably been here since this place opened in 1991.

GIANT #6539 Opened:  2016 Address:   5005 Jonestown Rd Photographed:  November 2021 Welcome back to Retail Forever! Today we've got our only Harrisburg supermarket this time around, Giant #6539. This Giant has a long history, starting out in the 1970s at 5007 Jonestown Rd. In 1991, it was relocated across the street to a new store in the Colonial Commons shopping center, 5074 Jonestown Road. It was remodeled in the 2000s, before relocating to 5005 Jonestown Rd (right next door to the original store from the 1970s) in November 2016. The current store was originally a Hill's, Ames, and Gander Mountain. The second store at Colonial Commons, which is now occupied by Hobby Lobby.

CVS #2882 Opened:  2001 Address:   1116 Carlisle Rd Photographed:  December 2021 For the first of our two Harrisburg posts this time around, we have a typical CVS in Camp Hill, Lower Allen Township. Lower Allen's original CVS was located at 1104 Carlisle Rd. It was formerly an ACME supermarket in the 1960s, as well as a Rea & Derick drugstore, which opened on January 1, 1972, and became a CVS in 1991. CVS opened a new store at 1116 Carlisle Road on October 8, 2001, leaving the old store to become a Dollar General.

GIANT #6271 Opened:  2003 Address:  14635 Mount Airy Rd Photographed:  October 2021  After our brief venture down to Baltimore County, Maryland, we're back up in Pennsylvania. If you've been reading both blogs for a while now, you may remember the former Giant store which I included as a bonus at the bottom of the post about Kmart in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania. Well, that store was the original location for this store, before it moved. If you haven't already read that, I'll include the information here again. The original Shrewsbury Giant opened in 1983 with a shopping center along Forrest Ave, co-anchoring with Kmart. When Kmart closed in 2000, I can imagine the center started dying off, so in 2003, Giant relocated to a new plaza at 14635 Mount Airy Rd, closing the Forrest Ave store. Gee, that sign has seen better days
