Glimpse: CVS #1672 - Elizabethtown, PA

CVS #1672

Opened: 1991
Address:  1575 S. Market St
Photographed: December 2021

For our second and final stop in the Harrisburg area this time around, we have CVS #1672 in Elizabethtown. Up next, we're headed to Wilmington.

Another store with Rea & Derick roots, CVS #1672 in Elizabethtown opened on August 19, 1984, as Rea & Derick, replacing an ACME supermarket that closed in summer 1982. It was converted to CVS in 1991 with the rest of Rea & Derick's stores.

While the exterior looks like it could use some work, the interior has been fully remodeled to the latest CVS prototype, which I've dubbed as "Plain and boring"

If I had to take a guess, I'd say this cart has probably been here since this place opened in 1991.

  1. That cart is somewhere in the 2004-07 range with that warning label on the child seat. Also most older Uniteds until the late 1990s had the "Your Neighborhood Drugstore" slogan on the handle. Even if that store has an all-United fleet, it probably has no original shopping carts like most drugstores that have operated for many years.

    1. It seemed a lot older than 2004-2007, but it would make sense that it's not 30 years old.
