Glimpse: ShopRite of Governors Place - Bear, DE
ShopRite of Governors Place, located at 1101 Governors Place in Bear, DE opened in 2011 in a space formerly occupied by Thriftway, Genuardi's, and Safeway. It opened in the 1980s as a Thriftway, then in the 1990s, it was sold to Genuardi's (becoming store #30). In 2001 when Genuardi's was acquired by Safeway, it was re-bannered to a Safeway. ShopRite took over the lease in early 2011 and opened in the space later in 2011. There was also a Kmart (#4807) in the center which you can read about over on Kmart Forever.
