GIANT #100 Opened:  1989 Address:  11399 York Rd Photographed:  October 2021 Welcome back! For our second and final Marylandian supermarket post from this trip, we are at Giant #100 in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Giant #100, originally numbered as store #200 (the store numbers were changed after the Stop & Shop merger), opened in 1989 as the second of two Cockeysville stores for the chain (the other has since closed).

RITE AID #3425 Opened:  2006 Address:   807 S. 4th St Photographed:  November 2021 If you're looking for our second York drugstore post from this round- well, you're just gonna have to wait another week (sorry...) I forgot all about RA #3425, and I feel it's about time for another installment of The Rite-Up. Like many Rite Aid stores from the Customer World wave, this was a relocation. Hamburg's original Rite Aid opened in the mid-1990s and was in a strip center behind the current store, co-anchoring with a Redner's supermarket. It later relocated to its current location in 2006. SAFEWAY #1399 Opened:  1978 Address:   3499 Sweet Air Rd Photographed:  October 2021 I feel like I really owe you guys a Tour right now, due to all the Glimpses I've been posting over the past four months, although due to, well, stuff, the best I can do right now is this Quick Look. Enjoy! This store is perhaps the oldest Safeway in the area, dating back to 1978, when it opened in the Manor Shopping Center. Likely due to its age, this store has no pharmacy. That's just about all I have, so please enjoy the pictures below.

CVS #5723 Opened:  2010? Address:   606 S. Main St Photographed:  December 2021 For one of our two York County stores this time around, we have CVS #5723, located in Shrewsbury, Southern York County. This CVS is your typical 2010's CVS drugstore, appearing to have opened in 2010. It relocated from 74 E. Forrest Ave, in a former Revco, which opened on September 17, 1984. It features chain's recognizable design from the era, with your usual "CVS/Pharmacy" signage on the exterior. The inside, however, has been fully remodeled to the latest decor package, likely replacing the "Urban Store" decor package implemented when the store first opened.   The old store on Forrest Ave (Photo by joshaustin610 on Flickr)

WEIS #98 Opened:  Mid 1970s Address:   1786 Columbia Ave Photographed:  September 2021 I'm not really sure how to start this post off, so let's get started... Weis #98, a mid-1970s model store, opened (obviously) in the mid-1970s. Like many other stores, #98's exterior was remodeled in the early 1990s, adding a mirrored facade and white pillars (I'm not particularly fond of this model). Throughout the 2010s, several small exterior improvements were made, leading up to the removal of the mirrored facade in summer 2019.  Appearance of Weis #98 after the 1990s remodel (Photo from The Weis Project)
