Weis #55, located at 1603 Lincoln Highway East opened in the 1980s as a relocation of the store at 2092 Lincoln Highway East, which opened in the 1970s. Besides Aldi, this is the only grocery store in the area so it does pretty well. The façade was recently repainted and the store was given a facelift. The store as it appears today. It's officially been 59 years since the opening of the first Kmart store on March 1, 1962, in Garden City, Michigan. As our "K-Day" gift to you, I have posted my Kmart photo "rejects" (or photos of poor quality that never got posted). Enjoy, and have a Happy K-Day!! 1. The "K" on the wall in Walnutport. I tried many times to capture a photo of this signage. As the area was cordoned off, I wasn't able to get closer for a quality photo. As a result, I had to zoom in on the sign, which leads to many blurry images. 2. The road sign in Shillington The following photos of the Shillington Kmart's road sign were captured while on the ramp leading up to the parking lot. As there were electrical wires blocking it, this created a few terrible-quality photos. 3. Lancaster: 600 Park City Center Store #8 Built-in 1972 with the center as Watt & Shand (the 2-store chain's second location). Sold to Bon-Ton in 1992, and was remodeled around 2005. A furniture gallery was located across the street in a former Phar-Mor. This Bon-Ton closed in 2018 with the rest of the chain. Check out Will's photos of this store on Flickr to see it when it was still open. From Google Maps Streetview Harrisburg: 4400 Jonestown Road Store #32 Built-in 1960 with the center as Pomeroy's. Sold to Bon-Ton in 1990, and the store was re-bannered to Bon-Ton by 1990. This Bon-Ton closed in 2018 with the rest of the chain. ACME store #2680, located at 100 College Square in Newark, Delaware opened on 11/11/2015 in a space formerly occupied by Pathmark, which closed in November 2015 (Similar to the  Rehoboth Beach  store).
