Rite Aid


Rite Aid once operated over 5,000 stores in 2008. But that number has dwindled down to less than 3,000 stores in 2020. I have been keeping an eye on Rite Aid's store locator, and have noticed stores being completely erased from America's retail landscape and left abandoned or scooped up by competitors, such as CVS or Walgreens. Rite Aid recently announced a new prototype store design, called Rx Revolution that can hopefully return the brand to its glory days, but only time will tell what will happen to this fallen giant.
